CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Christmas is around the corner! A time to celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus. Christmas has become a special season in our community.
As a ministry we try to make this season so special even to the less privileged.
Every year we give an opportunity to our sponsors and donors to help make Christmas for our children both exciting and meaningful by asking them to donate a little more towards:
- A Christmas special need, usually to help the child and reach out to the entire family.
- Buy a Christmas gift for the sponsored child.
- Donate towards giving all the children a Christmas dinner.
A Special Christmas Need

Our staff usually carry out child visitation and need evaluation in the community and as a ministry we always come up with a special need drive every Christmas.
This gives an opportunity to sponsors to be a blessing to their sponsored children during the Christmas season but also make a difference in the life of the child and the entire family besides providing an education for the sponsored children. Usually Christmas special need drive aims at enhancing development and sustainability in the community to help the child and her family be less dependent on aid and support.
It also gives a sponsor an opportunity to show the love of Jesus through giving and help make the children’s life better.
This Christmas, our committee decided that we ask our dear sponsors and donors to give towards buying for each child a rainwater collection tank.
A lot of children help to fetch water for the family after school taking off from their evening study time.
And most of the water sources available are creeks, which are usually so far away and takes about two hours and the children usually return after dark. Besides creek water here is so dirty causing diseases. And the children can’t come to school when they are sick.
Good clean water promotes good physical health.
This tank will help the child and her family to harvest clean rainwater during the rainy season which will be a great blessing to the family.
Each tank costs $30.
For sponsors that have more than one child in the family, you can give a donation for one water tank though you can also give more to help children whose sponsors will not be able to donate towards this need.

Sponsored Child Christmas Gift
Children always look forward to Christmas expecting to receive a gift from their sponsors no matter how small.
We usually ask sponsors to donate $30 to buy shoes and clothes for the sponsored child.
Any additional money can help other children in the family buy something special or plan to have a special meal as a family, however this is optional.
Also, in case you are able to mail a gift to Uganda; you can mail a Christmas package to your child to our mailing address.
Some ideas for Christmas gifts may include:
- School supplies like paper, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, notebooks, story books.
- Toiletries like soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, cream, deodorant, soccer balls, dolls.
It doesn’t have to be a lot, a shoe box size is enough.
Such small things touch the hearts of children.
Also, it would be great to send a Christmas card. Children are always happy to receive your family pictures; they love to show off their American family.

Christmas Dinner!
“I was hungry and you gave me food…” (Matthew 25:35)
Most families in our community, eat one meal a day, most of the orphaned children and poor children do not know where their next meal will come from.
As a ministry, we feel God has called us to minister to these hurting children and make a difference in their lives. Every Christmas we prepare a meal for children in our village. Last year with the generous contributions from you our dear friends, we were able to feed over 1000 children with a big meal that included beef and a soda. For most children, this is the only time they eat beef and drink a soda.
We plan to do it again this Christmas season. This is one important day in a year that children in our village look forward to. It is amazing that by the beginning of December word starts going out and children come to ask when the big day is due.
Please help us to put a smile on the faces of these precious children this Christmas.
Our budget for this year is $3000 to feed 1000 children. We also need to rent a big space for the event, hire sound equipment, tents and stage needed to make this celebration great.
This moment also provides an opportunity to minister the gospel of salvation to the children and give the young generation a firm foundation in Christ.
